The challenge
We want to address a critical challenge: the record-low voter turnout in Ontario’s last provincial election and the ongoing decline in youth participation.
In 2025, we will launch a brand new initiative to visit college and university campuses across Ontario to inspire students to vote! We are hiring 5 Campaign Managers, 10 Campus Engagement Leaders, and 50 Voting Ambassadors to help make it easier for young people to get involved in voting, and to build a strong culture of democratic participation that continues beyond the next election.
The team

North: Covering Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, North Bay, and Sudbury
East: Covering Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston, and Ottawa
West: Covering Windsor, Sarnia, Kitchener, London, St. Catharines, Niagara, Guelph, and Waterloo
GTA East: Covering Toronto, Oshawa, and Barrie
GTA West: Covering Toronto, Hamilton, Mississauga, and Brampton

Campus Engagement Leader (North Ontario or East Ontario)
Contract Period: Friday, January 31 to Friday, February 28, 2025 Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., though occasional early mornings or late evenings may be required to accommodate travel) Pay: $250 per day, approximately $5,250 over the contract period Location: Remote, with frequent travel to campuses in your region. A car is required. For activities located farther from your home, flights and accommodation will be provided. Reports To: Campaign Manager

Are you energized by connecting with diverse groups of people and inspiring them to take meaningful action? Join our voter engagement team as one of ten Campus Engagement Leaders. This full-time role is open to anyone who is extremely confident, loves speaking with new people, and is passionate about voter engagement. You’ll work directly on college and university campuses, organizing and attending events to inspire students to vote. You’ll be the face of this project, speaking to thousands of students to encourage them to register to vote. This fast-paced role requires excellent time management and execution skills to meet tight deadlines and manage a busy workload.

What You’ll Do:
Attend a one-day in-person training session in Toronto on Friday, January 31. Travel and accommodation will be provided.
Plan and lead campus voter engagement events, including staffing booths alongside another Campus Engagement Leader and Voting Ambassadors.
Manage event logistics and track student participation metrics.
Work with Voting Ambassadors (current students) to ensure outreach consistency and on-brand messaging.
Provide feedback to improve engagement strategies and tactics.
Represent the project professionally and remain non-partisan.
What You’ll Bring:
An extremely confident and outgoing personality and love for speaking with new people.
Experience volunteering on a campaign or doing community engagement work.
Skills in mentoring junior staff and adapting to unexpected challenges.
Familiarity with Ontario university campuses (a strong connection to at least one is an asset).
Passion for voter engagement and the ability to work non-partisanly.
Access to a car and the ability to travel daily between campuses is essential. Mileage is reimbursed at $0.57 per kilometre.
Capacity to stand for several hours and lift up to 30 pounds as part of event setup and execution.

Voting Ambassador

Contract Period: Thursday, February 20 to Monday, March 31, 2025 Hours: Flexible, depending on campus event schedules, with a total of up to 35 hours over the entire contract, including training time. Pay: $22 per hour (approximately $770 for the contract period) Location: Your college/university campus Reports To: Campaign Manager
Are you a current student at an Ontario college or university who wants to make an impact on your campus? The Dais is hiring 50 Voting Ambassadors across the province to promote voter registration and participation. This is a short-term, hands-on opportunity to inspire your peers and support democracy.
You will be the only Voting Ambassador for your campus, so it’s important that you can work on your own, promote the project widely, and plan events to reach as many students as possible. This role is great for a motivated student with strong campus connections, student leadership experience, and a desire to grow their leadership skills. This fast-paced role requires excellent time management and execution skills to meet tight deadlines and manage a busy workload. Being able to balance this role alongside your academic workload will be key.
What You’ll Do:
Attend a half-day virtual training session either on Thursday, February 20 or Friday, February 21, 2025.
Arrange and deliver classroom presentations.
Staff campus booths with Campus Engagement Leaders.
Reach out directly with student groups to encourage voter registration.
Conduct outreach to faculty and staff to promote campaign materials.
Provide feedback to the team to improve outreach strategies.
Represent the project professionally and remain non-partisan.
What You’ll Bring:
A passion for voter engagement and a persuasive communication style.
Experience in student leadership, campaigns, or community engagement.
An extremely confident and outgoing personality and love for public speaking, conversing with new people, and inspiring others.
Strong knowledge of your campus, including existing connections to student unions and groups.
A commitment to non-partisan voter engagement
Ideas of how you will reach as many of your peers as possible to encourage them to register to vote
Commitment to non-partisan advocacy and inclusivity.
Willingness to occasionally travel on your own time (e.g., by public transit or car) to support voter engagement activities on your college/university’s nearby campuses.
