Ontario Education Pathways

EPP

Streaming refers to the practice of separating students into academic or applied pathways early in their educational journey. This system often perpetuates inequities, disproportionately impacting marginalized students and limiting their future opportunities.

De-streaming, on the other hand, aims to dismantle these divisions, ensuring all students have access to the same high-quality education and opportunities to succeed.

The Dais is committed to creating a more equitable education system in Ontario. Through extensive research and collaboration, we’ve been at the forefront of addressing the systemic impacts of streaming and advocating for meaningful alternatives.

The Dais has conducted and published a series of reports:

Changing Lanes

A deep dive into student motivations and pathways, providing insights into how education systems can better support all learners.

As we move forward, the Dais is focused on empowering educators, school staff, and community organizations to implement de-streaming successfully. We provide practical training, tools, and resources to help those working with youth navigate de-streaming conversations and create inclusive learning environments.

Together, we can transform education in Ontario to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
