Gore Mutual Insurance funds our first Generation Climate Policy Fellow
The Dais has been chosen by Gore Mutual Insurance to receive funding towards our Generation Climate Policy Fellowship.
This generous gift will help the Dais launch an initiative to support the next generation of climate leaders who will be diverse, well-informed, and ready to take on leadership roles in shaping the country’s approach to the climate crisis.
Designed for Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities, this action-oriented learning opportunity will help to build an inclusive climate policy space, where those who are most at risk of adverse climate impacts are empowered to be part of the solution.
“We are proud to support The Dais’s Generation Climate Policy Fellowship, a catalyst for shaping our country’s inclusive response to the climate crisis, driven by those most at risk. We look forward to following the journey of their first cohort and applaud these future climate policy leaders for their determination to create meaningful change and a better tomorrow.” – Gaby Polanco Sorto, Vice President and Head of Purpose & Sustainability, Gore Mutual Insurance Company
“Despite decades of research highlighting the disproportionate environmental harms faced by Indigenous, Black and racialized communities, climate policies and action often lack their input and guidance. Our Generation Climate Policy Fellowship will address the critical need for inclusive leadership in shaping environmental policies. The fellowship is a proactive step, providing essential mentorship, climate knowledge, policy-making insights, and change-making skills to the next generation of Indigenous, Black, and racialized climate leaders.” – Camara Chambers, Director of Leadership Development, the Dais at Toronto Metropolitan University
