Senior Policy Analyst

Salary: $84,000 – 88,000 per annum with benefits
Position Type: Contract – 6 month with potential for longer-term renewal
Date: November 2024 to April 2025
Reports to: Director of Policy & Research 
Location: Hybrid. Required on campus at the Dais (20 Dundas St. West) at least one day a week. Additional in-office days, in-person event attendance and meetings may be required. Candidates located outside of Toronto are welcome to apply.


The role will lead an exciting new Dais project focused on education policy and technology in K-12 education systems across Canada. With a background in domains including education policy, technology / edtech and project management, the Senior Policy Analyst will be responsible for overall project coordination and delivery, including research design, analysis and knowledge dissemination, partner and relationship management, including in governments and the education sector. 

In addition, the Senior Policy Analyst will be a valued member of the policy and research team and the Dais staff. They will lead and support other policy and research projects that focus at the intersection of education, technology and democracy, as well as exciting Dais activities such as public events and learning programs.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Designs the overall policy research or knowledge mobilization approach, and undertakes qualitative and/or quantitative analysis to achieve project objectives.
    • Leads complex projects, including scoping, budgets, coordination, evaluation and partner relations, with review and support from the Director, Policy and Research.
    • Develops clear and accessible communication materials for different audiences, and leads or supports engagement and convening activities.
    • Supports the execution of projects in collaboration with the project team, including learning programs, surveys, events and other activities associated with the project.
    • Supports business development and other activities within the Dais as needed.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Completion of a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline
    • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years of immersed experience in: education policy and K-12 systems (postsecondary is an asset), education technology, teaching / learning design, government and politics
    • Experience leading applied research or policy analysis, using qualitative research tools, (e.g., literature reviews, expert interviews (quantitative methods are an asset))
    • Experience with relationship building with key government, community, industry, and other partners
    • Strong project management and facilitation skills, including time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong financial management skills, with ability to track a project budget
    • Ability to clearly communicate complex issues, and make policy work accessible to diverse audiences
    • Proven ability to gather, synthesize and analyze complex information from a variety of sources, to identify trends in data and research, and to develop recommendations
    • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners, and to work with a high degree of independence
    • Knowledge of key issues relating to education and technology policy in Canada, and other policy domains connected to the Dais’ mission
Leadership Development Facilitator

Salary: $73,000 – 77,000 per annum with benefits
Position Type: Contract – 6 month maternity leave cover
Date: November 2024 to April 2025
Reports to: Director of Leadership Development
Location: Hybrid. Required on campus at the Dais (20 Dundas St. West) at least one day a week. Additional in-office days, in-person event attendance and meetings may be required. Candidates located outside of Toronto are welcome to apply.


A major part of this role will be working on a special project focused on Canadian youth and their relationship with technology. The Leadership Development Facilitator will be responsible for building the project’s supporter strategy from creating a coalition of education professionals and institutions to recruiting and training youth leaders to champion tech-focused policy changes. 

In addition, the Leadership Development Facilitator will be a valued member of the leadership development team and the Dais team. They will play a coordination role across the Dais Learning portfolio. Dais Learning programs are designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to better understand how to influence policy change in Canada, and to act on current and emergent issues facing Canadians.

The Leadership Development Facilitator will be responsible for managing the planning and logistics of new and existing Dais Learning programs to ensure we continue to offer high-quality learning experiences to a wide range of Canadians interested in increasing their public policy literacy.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Build and maintain organizational relationships, including with community partners and industry experts
    • Identify, train, and mentor youth leaders to support the Dais’ public policy work
    • Co-create and manage project timelines using project management tools, ensuring smooth planning and execution
    • Oversee Dais Learning course logistics, including learner registration, payment tracking, and platform setup across a number of programs for diverse learners, including micro-credentials and masterclasses
    • Facilitate and teach course content of the Leading Through Policy Change microcredential, connecting with guest speakers, and managing assessments
    • Lead evaluation and feedback processes to enhance Dais Learning program quality and learner experience
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in design, delivery and evaluation of programs
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to create clear project management timelines and meet deadlines
    • Proven experience in relationship building and outreach
    • Strong facilitation skills, with experience working with both youth and adults
    • Expertise in influencing public policy, advocacy, and community building
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to foster inclusive learning environments that respect equity and diversity principles
    • Instructional design or formal teaching experience would be helpful but not required
    • Experience managing networks or coalitions would be helpful but not required
